Oak Lake BMP #2
Posted on Mar 7, 2009  Comments (0)
The BMP located near English Oak and Darlington is considered a dry pond. Hearndon, Vico and the City of Suffolk are attempting to correct the construction deficiencies to allow the transfer of the public common areas to the City of Suffolk. You help is requested to ensure no debris or trash is thrown in the BMP. The debris and trash are blocking to drain to allow the BMP to dry for the required construction maintenance. This is the last item to be corrected and when done so the city will have ownership of the roads and other public common areas. Until then our roads are considered private roads and the city has not common jurisdiction of our neighborhood. We need this complete to get the protection for our neighborhood as the other communities in the city have. Please provide your assistance by keeping Oak Lake grounds clean. If you see a violator please report it to UPA.

Yard Tips:

  • Ensure proper maintenance of your sprinkler systems are completed prior to commissioning for the new growing season. Often freezing temperature during the winter cause sprinkler lines to rupture creating havoc for you and your neighbors. Also, ensure you properly set you system based upon the recommendations of your local garden nursery or sprinkling system expert. Too much water can create unfavorable growing conditions. Happy gardening this year.
